Im writing a book, what could the mystery be?

-So far this girl has seen this spooky house across the road its an empty house. This house has a magical mystery, and shes going to investigate it but i have no idea what the mystery is!?? help!Ideas for your book-



Maybe when the girl goes to investigate she finds this trap hole leading into some other dimension or different place in the world where she can only get back if she helps do something etc. Has this girl got all her family, because I was thinking say her mum had disappeared and was then found dead somewhere, it could be the same in the parallel world and when she solves her mums disappearance and death in the other world it helps her solve it in the real world when she gets back.



Or if its just a magical mystery place the girl could enter and keep on seeing flashbacks of someone's life, it turns out in one of the flashbacks the girl see's that this person is enclosed in the walls of the house along with all the magic and to escape this person needs the locket/or some other object- which this person stole from somewhere (sorry no ideas where)- to be returned, and when that happens the girl can free this person and the magic the house holds from its imprisonment caused by this locket/other object.



Hope I helped give you some ideas you can work on, sorry if my ideas are older than what you intended like with the whole death of the mum, I'm writing a teenage book so my idea's may be for an older audience than what you wanted- sorry you never specified. I also hate sad endings so these are both happy endings, but if you dislike happy endings you can change the endings by even though the girl solved the mystery in the other world the evidence has all been wiped out in the real world so she cannot solve the real mystery of her life, in the true world. Also say the girl finds the locket/other object, the descendants of the person the locket/other object belonged to in the first place before being stolen have all died off so there is no one to give the locket to, therefore the person in the walls will be stuck there forever as the girl has no where to return it to. Hope you get good answers for your question...You need to find the central plot before you start. Otherwise you have no idea where you're going, and you'll end up nowhere.

Then you're not writing a book.
