What do you guys think of kindles?

-How much are they? Are they worth the buy? There's a lot of different brands, which is the best one? How much do you have to pay for books once you own a kindle? I saw one at Barnes & Noble and am very interested. Thank you!I really like my NookColor. It's no less portable than a book, I put 100 books on it for $6, and I can play Angry Birds. The only slight downside is that it has a pretty ordinary battery span of 8 hours, instead of the crazy long battery life of the e-ink reader, like the Kindle. The batteries the NookColor does have also make it a lot heavier than a Kindle, but not heavier than a hard cover book.



I can also get books some through my favorite local book store, and google-books, and put those on my nook, I don't know if I can do that with a kindle. You can also get library books on a Nook, but I haven't tried that myself. My NookColor broke while I was on vacation, I took it to the B&N store, and they arranged to have a replacement shipped that week, no hassle, no problem. I didn't even have a receipt, as my mother had bought it for me in another city. And of course, all the money that I'd spent on books and apps was perfectly safe; I just downloaded my old books and apps to the new nook when it arrived.
My mom bought a Nook Colour, which is probably what you saw at B&N. Amazon has the Kindle.



They are around $200. My mom thinks the buy was worth it, but she uses it like a tablet instead of for books o - O;; Kindle and Nook are the best you can get. You pay MUCH less for books on an e-reader (I have the Nook app on my iPhone and was able to purchase "The Count of Monte Cristo" for three dollars).



I definitely prefer books. They're more portable, you can drop them as many times as you want to and they probably won't break, if they're lost or stolen the value lost is much less than if your e-reader is stolen, they don't have touch screens that malfunction ... there is something amazing about holding a book and hearing actual pages turn(:
Kindle is THE BOMB and you should get one! Other eReaders just aren't quite as good. <3 Kindle!
Hard copy of the ACTUAL book in ur hand is so much better....trust me....dont buy a kindle......
