"Valdemar", can't think of the author, long running series, all containing magic things, problems with magic things, and political conflict. Some of them have "elves", others have gryphons. But not all.



Stoopid Fantasy Fun: a long running series by Piers Anthony..."Xanth". Almost all the books in this series are abosolutly loaded with puns, titles included.You would like the Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne and Todd McCaffrey, its a good (and long) series of books about a world of dragons tamed by human to help protect their world from disasters. if you liked The Inheritance Cycle, you would like this
