Is "The Phantom of the Opera" a historical fiction?

-yes ,Le Fant么me de l'Op茅ra (English: The Phantom of the Opera) is a novel by French writer Gaston Leroux. It was first published as a serialisation in "Le Gaulois" from September 23, 1909 to January 8, 1910. Initially, the story sold very poorly upon publication in book form and was even out of print several times during the twentieth century...While it was published about twenty years after the story is set, I wouldn't exactly call The Phantom of the Opera historical fiction, just like I wouldn't call a book published this year but set in the 90s historical fiction. The Phantom of the Opera is really more a thriller/horror novel than anything else, imo.
